June 7, 2019- The Montville Inn has been sold and will close on June 17th for several months. “On behalf of everyone at The Montville Inn, I want to thank the community and all the diners for their loyalty over the past 12 years”. Said Owner TJ Nelligan.
The Montville Inn was originally built in 1770 and called Mandeville Inn and was constructed by Dutch settlers. The Mandeville Inn was destroyed by a fire in the early 1900’s. When it was rebuilt, it was named The Montville Inn. The building went through several incarnations as a restaurant and bar, and eventually went into disrepair. The property was purchased in 2004 by Randy Frankel, TJ Nelligan and John Hanlon. The restaurant was completely rebuilt with the intention to capture the original essence of the Montville Inn. Nelligan became the sole owner in 2014. Nelligan has deep roots in the community having been raised in town and graduated from Montville HS.
“WE had a great run and hosted many special lifetime milestones for many in the community over the past 12 years” Said Nelligan “ We wish the new owner much success and thank everyone for the memories we all created at The Montville Inn”.
Michael Cetrulo will be renovating the property and will open under a new name and concept in a few months.
“My team and I are very excited to open our new venture in the town of Montville and feel very fortunate to have found this historic location and we are looking forward to working very hard in creating a special dining experience“ Michael Cetrulo
